On 4 May, MSC's 8,000 TEU vessel RACHELE docked at Valencia, the biggest container ship ever to call at any Spanish port. The vessel will be deployed on services out of China and the Far East. China is now Valencia's biggest generator of traffic. In 2004, Chinese volumes handled at the port amounted to 2m tonnes, up 35.5% over the previous year.
