Chittagong mayor opposes box terminal privatisation

The Mayor of Chittagong, Mohiuddin Chowdhury, has threatened to paralyse operations at the city's port if the government goes ahead with plans to privatise operations at the newly-built New Mooring container terminal.
This coincides with the delivery of four gantry cranes, which it is hoped will boost productivity by a factor of three. However, at the moment, they are only handling 10-12 containers per hour.
