Kenya seeks dredging funding.

Kenya has approached a European partner to provide bilateral funding for the dredging of Mombasa Harbour, which is scheduled to begin in 2009 for completion in 2011.
At present, ships drawing up to 13m-13.5m can access the facility; dredging will deepen this to 15m. The work is needed to stop cargo migrating to either Djibouti or Durban.
