Tight tyre

Tyre availability is still an issue for industrial and earthmover type machines – and therefore for straddle carrier manufacturers, says Kalmar’s Ilkka Annala.
“This is due to the extremely high demand for equipment in these fields,” he says. Charlotte Kuhn of Noell’s sales team adds:“Tyres are still a worldwide problem but Noell has managed to respect all its commitments as we enlarged our purchasing area to the whole world.
“In general, Noell does not compromise on quality – therefore only well-proven and high-efficiency components, i.e. tyres, are installed on our units; it brings more costs but delivers a superior quality in performance.”
Ms Kuhn says the new logistics and technical solutions adopted by Noell in the past three years are giving “excellent results”.
“Noell has improved on quality and technology and we focused on the following points: delivery time, operating costs, service costs and reliability.”
Because every Noell straddle carrier is tailor-made for customer needs, many of the company’s small technical improvements are coming directly from collaboration with the customer, says Ms Kuhn.
Noell has recently completed an upgrade of its own spreader design which is now integrated into the company’s Can-bus control system.“Other projects are on the testing bench and soon to be introduced to the market.”
