Aqaba on the move

Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority has received proposals from five international companies in respect of the $3bn project to relocate the port of Aqaba to an industrial complex site on the south shore.
This will involve moving facilities by up to 20 kilometres from the existing site. The project, which would see the port establish closer to the border with Saudi Arabia, is expected to commence during the second quarter.
