West coast aims for 42.5m teu target

The Californian ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are predicted to handle 42.5m teu by 2030.

Local authorities have recently signed an agreement to improve operational efficiency of both trains and trucks, which annually move 16m teu to and from the ports.
By 2030, trucks are expected to
be handling 142,000 teu daily, while the number of trains is expected
to increase from 176 to 441 each day.
