Portland and Vancouver trade volume to double

A study undertaken by the Port of Portland Commission has forecast a doubling of trade volume in the Portland/Vancouver region by 2035. The study highlights the need to plan and invest to increase the capacity of trade and transportation support while reducing the negative impacts on the region’s liveability.
According to the study, the rapidly growing Asian economies as well as this region’s growth will have an impact on the demand for trade access into and out of the US. As one of the four primary international trade gateways in the US, the Portland/Vancouver region hopes to cash in on this.
