Pedregal port concession challenged
01 Jun 2007
The governor of the Panamanian province of Chiriquí has asked Panama Maritime Authority to have another look at the concession awarded to a company in Pedregal port, which he believes has not stuck to agreed investment plans.
Chiriquí Port assumed management control in 1998 on the understanding it would invest $3m on infrastructure and dredging in the first 10 years of its 20-year concession.
To date, no improvements have been seen.
