Recent figures posted by Chittagong Port clearly show that productivity is improving following privatisation of Chittagong Container Terminal.
In the five months to August, it handled 151,605 teu. The port authority has also recently opened a new stacking yard capable of accommodating 65,000 teu.
A further six container yards are also promised by the end of the year. The Asian Development Bank has also promised to prioritise funding for the port following privatisation.
