Crane relocation is clearly a job for the expert contractors, so how do you pick the right one?
Portek recommends evaluation of any contractor on a number of criteria:
● Ability, experience, and past performance
● Proposals for planning and preparation
● Proposed speed of operation and degree of disruption
● Safety record, procedures and precautions
● Contractors risk management policy
● And make sure the structural integrity of the quay is factored into all planning activities – this is especially important in selecting jacking points to prevent overloading the quay.
