Tanger Med equipment orders roll in

A rash of new equipment orders for the Tanger Med port development in Morocco has materialised as the terminal prepares for opening this year.
APM Terminals has ordered a batch of 11 ECO-RTGs from Zhenhua Port Machinery Company in Shanghai, with Siemens hybrid drives.
Meanwhile, Tangier Medgate SA has awarded Kalmar an order for 11 E-One rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, outfitted with Bromma twinlift spreaders to be delivered by May 2008.
And Stockholm-based Bromma Group has confirmed an order for 20 Bromma crane spreaders made up of seven Bromma STS45 separating twin-lift ship-to-shore spreaders for Cavotec and APM Terminals, and 13 Bromma Marathon twin-lift YTR40 yard crane spreaders via Kalmar.
Siemens has also confirmed an order to outfit 15 ship-to-shore cranes and 32 rail mounted gantries cranes for DP World’s new T2 terminal in Jebel Ali.
