Liebherr captures South American dream
17 Apr 2008
Since opening a sales office in Brazil five years ago, crane manufacturer Liebherr claims to have boosted the mobile harbour crane (MHCs) population in the country from five to 22.
This, plus the general thirst for bigger and better handling equipment, led to orders for a total of nine Liebherr MHCs for Brazilian ports in 2007, a trend that proves Liebherr’s growing prowess in a market traditionally dominated by rival Gottwald.
Liebherr's orders of cranes for the South
American market totalled 15 in 2007, with the units destined for ports in Chile, Colombia,
Argentina and Costa Rica, as well as Brazil.
