Budget nod for Queensland ports
17 Jul 2008
Queensland ports bodies will get A$798.4m (US$769m) in the 2008/09 state transport budget.
Of that, A$250m (US$241m) will be used for the Abbot Point X50 Expansion, to help increase the ports capacity by 50m tonnes a year.
A fourth major coal terminal in Queensland is also in the offing, having
been tipped as “viable” by state premier Anna Bligh.
