Greymouth port lifeline

Port Westland has been granted a one-year contract to manage the rundown port of Greymouth by the Grey District Council.

Reducing the port’s NZ$1.2m (US$910,000) debt while establishing facilities to build an 80,000-tonne per year cargo trade are among primary focuses, said Port Westland chairperson Tony Kokshoorn.
