Primeport losses spark redundancies

Recent shipping service losses have forced PrimePort Timaru to make 23 permanent full-time and part-time positions redundant.

The port is also considering whether it will retain or lease out its soon-to-arrive newbuild NZ$6m (US$4.6m) tug Aoraki, and a mobile harbour crane may head to the Port of Tauranga.
