Eco-friendly RTG boost

Tangier Medgate and Somaport are to boost container handling capacity in the Mediterranean with Kalmar crane orders.

Ten all-electric E-One+ rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) will head for Somaport's terminal at the Port of Casablanca. Each has a reach of 7+1 wide and 1-over-5 high.

The cranes will come with Remote Machine Interface (RMI) and a complete seven year maintenance contract. Tangier Medgate has also recently exercised an option for five more RTGs on top of the 11 cranes ordered in the middle of last year.
