French stevedores protest ports privatisation

Port workers in France continued to protest against government policy to privatise terminal handling operations.
Striking workers have paraded with banners declaring: “The ports are not for sale.”
As part of industrial action, access to many ports of the Atlantic coast has been blocked and maintenance work within terminals halted. Similar action has also taken place at the port of Marseilles.
