To be conducted by the US Army Corps of Engineers, with assistance from the US Coast Guard, the analysis will look at the impact of the air draft on future port trade, navigational safety, security and transportation economics.

Port planners at PANYNJ are keenly aware that the 151 foot air draft of might eventually become an issue as larger vessels transit into Newark Bay to reach the PANYNJ’s terminals at Port Elizabeth and Port Newark.

The PANYNJ anticipates that the final report from the Corps will be available in spring, 2009.
