Monopoly concerns in Ecuador

The Association of Ecuador's Private Port Operators has asked the government to avoid creating monopolies.
This follows the awarding of a concession to operate the whole of the port of Guayaquil to Philippines-headquartered International Container Terminal Services Inc.
Those same operators claim that their own operations do not, however, result in a lack of competition, emphasising the large amount of income they generate.
