Nautilus prospects for Savannah terminal

California-based Nautilus International, which controls Metropolitan Stevedore and Metro Cruise Services among others, recently announced its purchase of the Savannah International Terminal (SIT).

Comprising a 14.85 acre tract on the south side of the Savannah River, including a deep-water private slip, the terminal contains a 255,000 sq ft warehouse and has direct rail and highway access.

Currently, SIT offers export and import bulk and breakbulk stevedore, marine terminal and bagging services, and specialises in clay export. However, planned terminal improvements will expand the range of bulk cargo capabilities.
