Productivity award for APM terminal
03 May 2008
APM Terminal's Zeebrugge has been awarded a Crane Productivity Award by APL for its handling of the New World Alliance weekly South China Express (SCX) service.
The SCX service began calling the APM Zeebrugge facility in July of last year, and recently upgraded the vessel string from seven 5,300 teu vessels to eight 8,600 teu vessels, increasing its capacity on the run by 60%.
APM Zeebrugge has seven super post panamax ZPMC gantry cranes capable of working vessels stacked 22 containers across, and can handle the newest class of 10,000 teu containerships.
