Nigerian concessionaires demand surcharge

Port concessionaires in Nigeria believe that they should be receiving the 7% surcharge levied on imported items that the government set up to develop port infrastructure.
They argue that they, the private sector companies, are undertaking the development.
Currently, this money is paid to the Nigerian Ports Authority, which nowadays maintains its regulatory role, but is no longer involved in terminal operation.
