Gladstone deals with dust
02 Sep 2008
Gladstone Ports Corporation is to invest A$2.4m ($2.1m) in wind barriers around its coal stockpiles in an attempt to reduce dust escaping into the surrounding community.
The corporation has acted upon community concerns about the operation of the RG Tanna and Barney Point coal terminals.
Over the next two years the port will also upgrade spraying equipment and water systems, as well as eliminating unnecessary stockpile movements.
