Applicants are invited to apply for the Group Head of Port Projects vacancy within the Group Port Projects Department, based at Port of Liverpool.

Role Purpose: To lead and support the Capital Project team and to deliver maintenance and development projects of varying size and complexity, in order to meet the needs of the business and its stakeholders. To monitor and control the project portfolio, match resource to demand and deliver the most effective and efficient solutions in terms of quality, time and cost.

The Group Head of Port Projects role will include the following responsibilities:

- Lead an internal team of Project Managers, internal project management office and an external project management provision when required

-Drive excellent performance in Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, ensuring the highest standards are upheld across all projects

-Manage change control of all projects to ensure business needs are balanced within project constraints, ensuring the delivery of projects is in accordance with statutory legislation and mandatory company standards

-Ensure project core teams are formed and work with project sponsors to facilitate effective engagement of all stakeholders, in the development and delivery of a project

-Manage the lifecycle of all projects through feasibility, approval, design, construction, completion, commissioning, handover and post project review

-Develop and implement processes to integrate business approach towards true asset management, in line with ISO 55000

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

-Prior experience of leading people and managing projects, in an engineering or related environment

-Demands will require the individual to have an inherent ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and change in a fast moving operational environment

-Degree qualified in a relevant subject such as Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification

-Prince2 project management experience or equivalent

-Significant experience of complex maintenance and construction projects

-Ideally a member of a professional body within Project Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration / Commercial Management institutions

-Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint

-A full valid Driving Licence
