We are looking for a Marketing & Audience Development Executive to join our award winning B2B media company with an immediate start available.

Mercator Media produces leading specialist magazines, exhibitions, conferences and websites, predominantly serving the commercial marine sector with pan-European and international audiences.

Our clients range from large international equipment manufacturers and suppliers, media agencies through to family-run vessel operators. The company is in an exciting growth stage, launching new events in the USA and East Asia plus a range of new digital services. With multiple brands, websites and events, this is a unique opportunity for a results driven and creative Marketing & Audience Development Executive to join a great B2B media company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Marketing team to create and deliver the marketing plan for all Mercator Media brands and develop audiences across all products.
  • Creating an audience development strategy and identifying opportunities to increase audience across the brands.
  • Implementing the strategy as agreed with the marketing team in order to fulfil company objectives.
  • Working with the marketing team to deliver campaigns utilising best practice for email marketing /social media / paid advertising etc.
  • Producing copy and material for print, e-news, web and press across multiple brands
  • Evaluating and reporting on audience development marketing activities
  • Working closely with the Subscriptions Circulation Manager to monitor changes in customer trends and numbers that will influence the marketing and audience development activities
  • Carrying out market research and customer surveys to assess demand, brand positioning and brand awareness
  • Monitoring competitor activity and analysing pricing positions
  • Helping to maintain, increase and update customer and audience databases via scheduled communications and campaigns
  • Organising and attending events and exhibitions as required
  • Answering telephone, web requests or email enquiries with regards to marketing and audience development
  • Undertaking administrative tasks related to audience development, such as data analysis and taking payments

Skills & Attributes:

  • A solid understanding and experience of creating marketing campaigns and copy across a range of channels, including web, print, email and social media
  • Experience in content creation and development
  • Comfortable working with databases and Excel
  • Results driven individual who is excited to take ownership of campaign activity from start to finish
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
  • A flexible, hands-on team player
  • An understanding of B2B publishing and associated marketing channels is desirable
  • Experience of working with Marketo or other similar marketing automation software for delivering campaigns is desirable
  • Industry knowledge desirable
