Applicants are invited to apply for the QSHE Compliance Lead vacancy within the Containers Department, based at the Port of Liverpool. This position will require occasional travel.

Role Purpose:

To lead the QSHE Compliance process within the Peel Ports Containers Division operations. To ensure the highest standards of procedural and legislative compliance within the business through auditing.

The QSHE Compliance Lead role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Provide advice, guidance and support by administering and enforcing company policy on matters relating to Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental management
  • Carry out detailed independent inspections of all areas of the Company's activities and provide written reports to management
  • Ensure robust policies, procedures and systems comply with the requirements of legislation, codes of practice and international standards
  • Assist the business to reduce the accident and incident rate and improve employee wellbeing, safety and job satisfaction
  • Be an integral part of the development, implementation and management of the company's Integrated Management System
  • Liaise across the wider Group to promote best practice, promote Group learning and offer opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in meetings and committees relating to QSHE matters within Container Terminal Operations
  • Assist with the development of high standards of governance in management decision making processes and advising accordingly

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 is desirable
  • NEBOSH or equivalent certification would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Excellent IT skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Extensive auditing experience is a distinct advantage
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast moving environment
  • A full valid Driving Licence is essential
  • Experience in ports, docks, construction, offshore or other high risk environments would be ideal
