We have a fabulous opportunity for a talented Sales Director to join our award winning B2B media company.

Mercator Media produces leading specialist magazines, exhibitions, conferences and websites, predominantly serving the Commercial Marine sector with pan-European and international audiences. Established in 1989, the company has over 55 employees.

Our clients range from large international equipment manufacturers and suppliers, media agencies through to family-run vessel operators. The Company is in an exciting growth stage, launching new events in the USA and east Asia plus a range of new digital services.

Mercator is a family-friendly, equal opportunity employer, based in modern open offices just off the M27 in Fareham, Hampshire. This is a unique opportunity for a driven Sales Director to join a great B2B media company, influence strategy and make their mark in a pleasant work environment.

Key Responsibilities will include:
*Accountability for company revenues and sales teams, reporting to the CEO. The role may become a full Board position after a probationary period.
*Developing a sales strategy, incorporating budgets, product development, business opportunities and sales process efficiency to maximise profitability & growth in line with company vision, values and objectives.
*Leading the sales teams to deliver the agreed targets and KPIs through the development of an environment orientated to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive effort.
*Empowering Sales Managers to influence best performance and a positive sales culture using recognition and reward to motivate the desired sales behaviours.
*Keeping up to date with competitors, clients, innovations and the commercial landscape.
*Working with editorial, content, marketing and technology to drive new business opportunities.

Essential Skills & Attributes:
*Experience working in a B2B media environment selling multi-platform solutions including magazines, websites, new media, exhibitions, conferences and other events.
*A proven ability to lead and manage a team of 20+ employees.
*Demonstrate successful national and international sales experience.
*Be comfortable working with numbers including forecasting and analysing trends.
*Be a creative thinker & problem solver with the ability to identify problems early and cultivate inspiring innovations & ideas.
*Clear written and verbal communication and strong presentation skills. Be IT savvy.

The role will be predominantly office based, with some overseas travel required.
