ICTSI's automation boost
International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) has stepped up terminal automation at its flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) in the Philippines and Suape Container Terminal (SCT) in Recife, Brazil.
ICTSI is using Identec for the rollout of a radio frequency identification (RFID)-based truck tracking system for the MICT, while ICTSI subsidiary Tecon Suape SA (TSSA) partnered with APS to implement systems on gate automation, quay crane optical character recognition (OCR) and yard tractor identification for the SCT.
“We intend to bring terminal automation to the next level by tapping the best IT solutions in the industry,” said Christian Gonzalez, ICTSI vice president and MICT general manager.
