Liebherr wins Tauranga order

Liebherr Container Cranes has won a contract to supply New Zealand’s Port of Tauranga with two super post panamax cranes.

The delivery of these ship-to-shore cranes will bring to seven the number of Liebherr STS cranes operating in the Port of Tauranga.

The cranes are scheduled for delivery in 2013 and 2014. The manufacturer has also delivered its first ship-to-shore cranes to Brazil, with Paranagua taking two megamax units.

The addition of the cranes will allow the terminal to increase its capacity to more than 1.2m teu per year.
