Waiting times to fall at Algiers

Industry Database

By the beginning of next year, DP World has stated that waiting time for vessels at the port of Algiers will be reduced from three weeks to just four days.

DP World aims to meet that goal with the introduction of new infrastructure, modern handling equipment and a new IT system. Handling capacity will be increased from 400,000 teu/year to 700,000 teu/year.

Currently, Algiers is one of the most expensive ports in the Mediterranean by virtue of the high demurrage costs.
