Terminal Intermodale Venezia Goes Live with Navis N4 Terminal Operating System

The N4 implementation process has been managed by Data and System Planning sa (DSP), an official Navis Implementation Partner. DSP worked directly with TIV, utilising Navis’ methodology and project management tools and has provided configuration, testing, report and field extensions, golive support services, including customized training courses.

“One of the main challenge s of the project has been related to training for most of the users at the gate, in the yard and at the vessel” says Neil Escott, Senior Manager Business services and DSP Project Manager at TIV. “Analysis, training, configuration and testing support, field development, go live guru support , post and go live support, have been the main services provided by the DSP team that have been working both on and off site for this 18 month project.”

“The implementation of Navis N4 at our terminal has been a very good collaboration between the DSP team and the TIV team” says Roberto Semenzato, General Manager at TIV. “The joint work of our project manager, Dmitry Kiselyev, Hili Company Group IT Director, with Neil Escott of DSP and the full integration of all people involved in the process allowed us t successfully go live as planned.

”Major benefits from this N4 version are enhancement in yard planning, gate movements, EDI, reduction in equipment idle time and yard congestion. Terminal Intermodal Venezia facilities located in Mestre, Italy are well suited for operations in the containerised cargo sector and integrated logistics. The terminal has an operational area of 185,000 square metres and annual container capacity exceeding 500,000 TEUs. Due to its distinct geographic location, TIV serves as the most convenient and cost-effective gateway for traffic to flow to and from Central/Eastern Italy and Central/Eastern European countries. TIV is also connected to other Adriatic ports (i.e. Trieste, Ravenna, Ancona and Koper), providing an additional route for shippers.
