The self-propelled cutter suction dredger will have a total installed power of 26,100kW and will be one of the largest and most powerful in the world.
The cutter will also be fitted with the DRACULA system, developed by DEME.
This system contributes to higher efficiency in the dredging of rock. The total installed power, therefore, increases to 28,200kW. The dredger is able to operate to a water depth of 36 metres in very hard and rocky soil.
Together with this order IHC Systems will deliver a dredging simulator to DEME, which will simulate the complete dredging process in all its aspects and forms part of the DEME training programme for dredging specialists. DEME is one of the world’s leading international dredging contractors.
