“Konecranes RTGs have proven their success in terms of environmental considerations combined with high performance capacity and fast delivery. These have been real strengths in winning recent orders”, says Tuomas Saastamoinen, sales manager, container handling at Konecranes. “Providing local support for the RTGs through our harbour crane service experts from KCI Koneports has also become a competitive asset for us.”
These will be delivered as from December 2005 with the cranes capable of spanning 22 rows and the RTGs being the first known automated yard cranes of their type in the world. One operator will be able to manipulate several RTGs at any one moment via a computer monitor.
