At Lazaro Cardenas, where Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) operates the container terminal, a whole new warehouse and distribution centre is being built.
Throughput at the port is expected to jump from 2,600TEUs last year to 280,000TEUs by the end of the current year, as $200m of new investment is ploughed into the port, which will become the largest box handling facility on Mexico’s West Coast.
