The company says port marine departments are experiencing an ever-growing requirement to provide statistical data to either internal or external organisations. PMIS Standard Edition has been designed to meet this requirement. It follows a recent proof-ofconcept software trial conducted at several UK ports which showed that the PMIS could be dispatched as a boxed CD, installed by the port’s staff and commissioned with minimal support from Norcontrol IT.
According to the new guidelines all port staff, contractors, drivers and visitors are required to wear identity badges.
Recognition Express developed a differentiating colour coded system and produced the badges, complete with clips and lanyards, in compliance with Transec’s requirements. It also developed an archiving and tracking database to facilitate duplication should replacements be required.
