Colombia establishes super port

Importer

Cartagena port management company Sociedad Portuaria de Cartagena (SPCS) and the local container terminal, Contecar, have merged to create a Colombian super port. The manoeuvre was undertaken through the purchase of 32.89% of the equity in Contecar by SPRC, and required the special permission of the Industry and Commerce Ministry. Contecar was formerly owned by a group of coffee growers.
