The V-TRAX automatically steers the container handling equipment down a virtual track along the runway using high-precision Differential GPS to locate the equipment and provide both the current position and heading. A twin antenna method allows the system to determine the heading before the equipment starts to move.

Manufacturer Hyster has added to its suiteof forklift trucks with a 36-48 tonnes heavy duty unit. TheH36.00-48.00XM(S)-12 is adaptable for applications with standard forks, or witha fork-mounted, removable 20-40 telescopic container spreader. Powered by asix-cylinder, 10.8 litre Cummins QSM11 turbo diesel engine, the forkliftconforms to the EC Tier 3 emissions standards for Non-Road Mobile Machinery. Twoengine performance levels are available, either with 224 kW or 272 kW @ 1800rpm.
