“The principle is the same as giving hotels stars,” states Stig-Göran Thorén head of rail operations. “As a hotel customer you choose your accommodation according to your wallet and needs.”
At present there are 23 inland intermodal terminals connected to Gothenburg’s RailPort system, located all around Sweden and Norway. Although it has been trialled in the Vaggeryd Terminal, the main port expects to roll out the service over the summer to five or six other facilities.
