Sweden to offer cold ironing discounts

Sweden has been given the go-ahead by the European Union to reduce port tariffs for those vessels making use of cold ironing when docked in the port. The rationale is that by not making use of on-board engines, the environment of the port will be improved. The measure will be adopted for period of at least three years.
