Indefinite strike called in Santa Fe

An indefinite strike called by port unions has made it extremely difficult for any cargo to enter or leave the Argentinean ports of San Lorenzo, San Nicolás and Villa Constitución, which are three of the countrys most important export facilities.

The unions are seeking acceptance of their proposed collective bargaining agreement.

Ports on the River Plate in the province of Santa Fe are also being affected.

Although not currently a peak period for the ports, significant consignments of cargo are being held up.
