The port has chosen Navis’ N4 terminal operating system and Kalmar’s SmartPort process automation solutions for its Asuncion and Pilar facilities.
In combination, these technologies promise to improve efficiency and deliver competitive advantages for Caacupe-mi. The collaboration between Kalmar and Navis is described as a “significant milestone for the region” by Navis’ senior sales director Martin Bardi.
“With anticipated growth of 50% over the next five years, Puerto Caacupe-mi understands the value of having advanced technology solutions in place to optimise operations and achieve efficiency as competitive advantages,” said Fernando Leri Frizza, president at Puerto Caacupe-mi.
Buoyed by 250% growth over the past two years, Puerto Caacupe-mi’s annual throughput stands at 100,000 teu.
