Tampa seeks new gantry cranes

Tampa Bay is in the market for new post-panamax gantry cranes to expand capacity at its container terminal.

The investment commitment comes on the back of Governor Rick Scott’s signing of a $12m state funding package for the port.

“This funding is consistent with the Governor’s tremendous strategic vision of investment in our state’s seaport infrastructure to strengthen our state’s competitiveness and role as a global gateway for trade,” said Paul Anderson, port president and chief executive.

The development of the port’s container terminal with push capacity from around 250,000 teu per year to 1m teu.
