The new U2-based system, which was been developed by Ideal Business Services Ltd, features ferry and vessel scheduling of arrival and departure times, input of ferry passenger, vehicle and freight details, tug usage, automatic calculation of port services and fees.
It also covers ad-hoc charging facility and management information and reports which can be emailed.
Ideal’s system is built using internet technology and is accessed via a standard web browser, allowing users to login from any computer or device with an internet connection.
The Port of Holyhead, North Wales, is operated by Stena Line Ports Ltd, who are the statutory Harbour Authority. The port handles more than two million passengers each year, with sailings from Holyhead to Dublin and Dún Laoghaire in Ireland.
Ideal has recently implemented similar port management and vessel schedule systems for port operations in Bermuda, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The company develops software solutions for shipping ports, container storage and repair docks, warehousing and cold storage.
