Located at the port of Umm Qasr, the terminal is undergoing an investment programme of over US$100m geared to consolidating and expanding its service offering.
Investment spans the upgrade of Berth 20, the existing container handling facility and a major expansion project that in the first phase will deliver 200m of new container quay providing an additional 300,000 teu capacity per annum.
ICTSI’s investment programme is designed to complement the increasing emphasis on the use of the southern port of Umm Qasr and take full advantage of growing trade flows of container, general and project cargo traffic.
The initial phase of the project will be operational in mid-2016.
