Since acquiring LASSTEC S.à.r.l. in September 2013, this is the second order Conductix-Wampfler has won from Contecon for the Twistlock Load Sensing and Operational Safety System. The units are already in use on STS cranes at the port.
The Conductix-Wampfler LASSTEC system uses patented fibre optic technology to accurately measure force applied on each twistlock within the container spreader. The data is then transferred to the terminal TOS for further analysis, storage, and operational decisions at the port.

Major spreader manufacturers have endorse the system, which can easily be integrated into new and existing installations, regardless of crane type, making the weighing system suitable for RTGs, STS, Reach Stackers, Mobile Harbor Cranes and Straddle Carriers. More importantly, the system meets the new IMO requirements.
Contecon Guayaquil SA says the order means it’s closer to complying with the International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) latest container weighing regulations.
