International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) is raffling off new house and land units to qualified employees of MICT as part of its employee rewards programme.
“So far, we have raffled off 40 houses to our pool of qualified employees. Each draw allows for five to 10 winners,” said Christian R. Gonzalez, ICTSI senior vice president and head of Asia Pacific and MICT.
Five groups
Qualified employees are categorised into five groups depending on the type of equipment or operational function they carry out and each group is entitled to a house and lot unit.
This means that those working with quay cranes and rubber tired gantry cranes, as well as in prime mover operations, container yard operations and engineering and IT, are all able to participate in the draw.
The move towards employee engagement and retention is an important focus for ICTSI and Mr Gonzalez stresses: “Gone are the days that dockworkers and stevedores are seen as plebeian. In ICTSI, to work in the port means you are a contributor to your country’s economy.
“We value our people. That’s why at the MICT, we enjoy a low attrition rate.”
He added the programme may be rolled out globally.
