Martin will be presenting on Day 2 of Coastlink, during the session focussed on ‘Looking to the future – Improving efficiencies through Digitalisation & Innovation’. Martin will deliver his insight into managing risk from climate and operational change and will provide detail on how operational strategies for ports and shipping routes can be optimised through the use of their platform – ForeCoast® Marine. The platform has been designed to look at metocean risks so that more informed and efficient decisions can be made. It can simulate key port operations and their inter-dependencies such as vessel/tug/pilot interactions, vessel movements in restricted waterways and weather-related downtime in vessel and cargo operations. Analysing the system output enables a greater understanding of the impact of climate change, as well as utilising the knowledge to optimise any future infrastructure development.

As the Technical Director in the Marine and Coastal Risk Management group at JBA Consulting, Martin focuses on the growth of the marine and coastal business through the delivery of innovative risk management solutions.
