Indonesia plan to develop 25 international ports

The Indonesian Transport Ministry says it will develop 25 of the country’ s 141 ports into international facilities over the next few years.

The majority of these will be located outside the region of Java. Some ports that are already handling international trade will be modernised.

The government has said it would also like to see private-sector management introduced in the stateowned sector, which is currently dominated by four public companies.
