The Malaysian-Argentinian IMPSA Port System crane manufacturing company is to deliver eight additional quayside gantry cranes to the Malaysian ports of Northport, PTP and Penang by the end of 2006. The three Northport cranes which will have twinlift capability and an outreach of 51m, will bring to 19 IMPSA’s complement of gantry cranes at the terminal. North Butterworth Container Terminal at Penang also has one post-Panamax unit on order with the company, while PTP is awaiting delivery of three super post-Panamax ship-toshore cranes. IMPSA has also delivered 10 RTGs to PTP and is scheduled to supply a further five by August.
