Tauranga dispute settled

A brief collective employment disputebetween the Port of Tauranga and the Rail and Maritime Transport Unionhas now been resolved. Successful mediation avoided the industrialaction previously announced by the union. Details of the deal, which isunderstood to be for two-years, have been kept confidential.

Having previously operated on a callout basis only at weekends, the organisation has formalised the addition of a full Saturday to provide “assurance”to the export trade.
